What We Do
-
Adopt: We have indoor and outdoor cats and indoor dogs for adoption to loving homes with people able to take care of the furbaby they adopt. Fees apply.
-
TNR: We facilitate trap, neuter, and release for community members who call us for feral strays or cats in a colony on the streets. Fees apply.
-
Hardship: We provide temporary holds for cats from people with hardship cases - you must explain the hardship (we are NOT a boarding facility). Fees apply.
-
Rescue: We rescue cats from hoarding situations, where the original owner has neglected the cats and the cats would otherwise be homeless or probably taken to a shelter, where they might be put down if not adopted. We work with other agencies usually for these intakes. Fees apply.
-
Homeless Rescue: We will intake cats who were formerly homeless from community members. Fees apply.
-
Abandoned Rescue: We will intake cats who have been abandoned from community members. Fees apply.
Mission
Our mission is to improve the quality of life for homeless and feral cats throughout Doña Ana County through rescue, medical care, socialization, sanctuary, adoption, and Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). We are committed to providing compassionate care for cats in need while reducing the feral cat population and educating our community about responsible care, spaying and neutering, and humane coexistence with community cats.
Our Vision
We envision a community where every cat is treated with empathy, compassion, and respect. Through education, TNR, rescue, adoption, and community involvement, we strive for a future where people and outdoor cats can peacefully coexist, fewer cats experience homelessness, and adoptable cats have the opportunity to find safe and loving homes.

History
Cruces Cool Cats was founded in 2020 by Selina Cardoza in response to the growing number of homeless and feral cats in our community. What began with helping cats from hoarding situations and providing TNR services grew into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill rescue and sanctuary serving Doña Ana County. Since then, Cruces Cool Cats has helped more than 1,500 cats through rescue, TNR, sanctuary care, and adoption - all with the support of volunteers, donors, adopters, fosters, and a community that believes every cat deserves a chance.
Who We Are
Cruces Cool Cats is a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit made up of dedicated members of the Las Cruces and Doña Ana County community who share a passion for improving the lives of homeless and feral cats.
From our Board of Directors to our sanctuary and community volunteers, no one at Cruces Cool Cats is paid. Our work is made possible by people who generously give their time, skills, and hearts to rescue, facilitate TNR, provide sanctuary care, make adoption possible, and provide community education. Thank you to our volunteers, caretakers, cleaners, vets, and technology helpers - you make a difference for CCC and our community!
